Trick or TREAT (or not).

I love the feeling of fall that comes around this time of year and I absolutely love Halloween, especially the goodies! However, every year I tend to overdo it on the candy. You name it, I wanna eat it or even dress up as it (Thats me as a red M&M). Butterfinger, reeses, twizzlers, MALT BALLS (weird, I know), milky way, hersheys chocolate bars. Yum!

This year I have a new strategy, especially with my weight loss goals, which I am trying to reach by Christmas. I am cheesy and saying that getting back to my happy weight is my GIFT TO MYSELF!

Instead of binging on candy like I do every year, I am allowing myself about 1/4 of my calorie intake (I eat about 1400 a day) to be devoted to my favorite treats for the next few days. I also have been doing this every day, not with candy, but with grain sweetened dark chocolate chips. Hey, they have antioxidants, so I have an excuse right?! One of these Halloween treats I already had for breakfast. I just couldn't wait! The lucky first pick?

I am NOT embarrassed to admit I already ate 2 fun size ones and its not even 8 o'clock in the morning.

What are your favorite Halloween treats?
Do you ever eat candy or special treats as breakfast on certain holidays?

  6. What a cute Halloween idea you had. And Butterfingers are my favorite.

I like the idea of factoring in treats to your day. Be sure you're having a lot of quality elsewhere, but if that keeps you consistent with healthy balance, then that's what matters. I actually do the same when I'm working to lose weight too. I can never give up treats completely, but find a way to fit them into my body's needs.
