Burn baby burn BEFORE that bowl of oats!

I know this post probably looks boring, BUT ITS WORTH THE READ, TRUST ME...

I am always on the lookout for ways to boost my calorie burn throughout the day. I recently came across an article that is so interesting.

Basically, the study divided men into 3 groups:
1. Those who did not exercise for 6 weeks and ate high carb/high fat diet
2. Those who did exercise before breakfast and and ate high carb/ high fat diet (after workout)
3. Those who did exercise after breakfast and ate high carb/ high fat diet (before workout)

All men were consuming about 30% more calories than usual.

The results? Everyone ate the same amount of calories, the only difference was when you worked out (either not at all, before breakfast, or after breakfast).

The group that ate after they worked out, did not gain any weight DESPITE THE INCREASE IN CALORIES. Researchers believed exercising helped to combat the weight gain!

What does this mean for all of us lovely ladies? All we have to do is simply exercise before breakfast to prevent holiday weight gain... My alarm clock is set already!

Stay tuned, my next post will be about my workout routine that I want to introduce you all too!

When do you prefer to exercise?
Do you find working out before breakfast helps you maintain your weight better?

  1. LOVE it! I'm going to try to exercise before breakfast this break, too! Thanks for that!

  2. I'm not much of a morning exerciser, I just try to fit it in when I can. The alarm clock is my enemy :)

  3. I haven't really noticed a difference in whether I workout in the evening or morining. I just try and fit it in when I can.

  4. I always exercise in the mornings before breakfast. I love to go ahead and get it over, take a hot refreshing shower, then have a great breakfast to start my day!! It makes a huge difference in my day when I exercise first thing in the mornings!

  5. Exercise early in the morning is the best thing I always do every weekends.

  6. If I work out early in the morning, then I usually go without eating because I don't have time to digest. Otherwise, I think its best to workout whenever you will have the most energy to give it your all. For me, that is usually later in the day and I find I likely burn more then, even after having eaten. Interesting study though!
